About the Author

Richard is a Leadership and Personal Development Author with a diverse background that spans 13 years of military service and a 25-year career as a senior executive. As an author, coach, and U.S. Navy veteran, he brings a unique blend of discipline, leadership, and real-world experience to everything he does.

During his time in the United States Navy, Richard served with distinction, including a role as Company Commander (RDC), where he trained nine recruit companies at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. His dedication and leadership personally prepared more than 800 sailors for active duty, earning him a nomination for the Navy’s Distinguished Leadership Award.

As a Certified Navy Instructor and member of the Command Training Team, Richard taught courses on leadership, team building, effective communication, and career development—helping both enlisted and officer-ranked personnel reach their full potential.

Serving as a Machinist’s Mate in the Engineering Department, Richard was responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of shipboard propulsion systems, 1500kW generators, distilling plants (water makers), and all associated auxiliary equipment. He served aboard the USS Forrestal (CV-59), an aircraft carrier homeported in Mayport, Florida, and the USS Pensacola (LSD-38), an amphibious ship supporting special operations units at NAB Little Creek, Virginia. Motivated by the events of 9/11, Richard extended his service for an additional three years with the U.S. Army Reserves.

After his honorable discharge, Richard transitioned to the business world, building a successful 25-year career across the training, education, and technology industries. Rising through the corporate ranks to senior leadership positions, he eventually launched his own consulting practice, helping companies and professionals achieve meaningful growth.

Today, Richard focuses primarily on his work as an author and personal development coach, sharing insights and guidance through his writing and one-on-one mentorship. His mission is to help others discover clarity, confidence, and purpose in both their professional and personal lives.

Richard lives in the Tampa Bay area with his wife, Sharon, their three children, and seven rescued dogs. Both lifelong ocean lovers, Richard and Sharon are currently preparing for their next great adventure—selling their home and moving aboard a yacht to embrace a full-time life on the water.
